Spring is very nearly upon us. A time for regeneration and new growth. Here in the kitchen the Blake's team have been busy cooking up ideas for the coming months. So without further ado... cake anyone?
PAncake day / week
Today no doubt saw a handful of streets across the country filled with people racing towards finish lines, tossing pancakes in frying pans for their annual Pancake Races. This tradition is said to have originated in the 15th century when a housewife, having lost track of time and upon hearing the church bells, raced out of the house, frying pan (and pancake) still in hand.
We're keeping things a little more relaxed this pancake day with our specials available all week until Saturday 25th Feb - join us in Clanfield for Breakfast Buttermilk Pancakes (with bacon, eggs, hash browns), Banoffee Crêpes (smothered in toffee sauce and caramelised bananas) or Creme Brûlée Buttermilk Pancakes (topped with lemon custard, blueberry compote and honey crumble).

Book a table in Clanfield for a special afternoon tea this Mother’s Day, Blake’s-style! Treat your Mother figure to a feast of Blake’s favourites, handmade in our bakery and kitchen. Our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea menu includes finger sandwiches, sausage rolls and scotch eggs; two types of scone; mini-doughnuts, lemon tart and more.

HOT CROSS BUNS
With Spring poking its bunny-eared head around the corner, we have taken the popular decision to bring you our handmade Hot Cross Buns (enriched with dark brown sugar, local Mayfield Eggs and mixed spices) - now available every Monday until 13th March, then daily until Easter.

Over the last few months we've been busy behind the scenes creating the Blake's Leadership Programme. The programme is designed to help our management team to become better leaders; developing important skills, looking at what we do well as a team and what we could do better, sharing our love of all things food, drink and conviviality.
